Company

Company dancers will compete at competitions and perform at local festivals in ballet/lyrical/modern, tap/clogging, and jazz/ hip hop. Rehearsals, in addition to regularly scheduled classes will be required, and there is one overnight "lock-in" at the studio to help prepare for competition. This is a fun overnight involving dance, pizza and team building.

Students selected for Company classes will be participating in competitions throughout the 2011-2012 dance year… Competitions for the 2011-2012 dance year will be announced in the fall. All Company students are expected to participate. Choreography for competition dances is created based on the number of students in the class. When students are unable for any reason to participate, it is a hardship to others to relearn spacing and/or choreography as well as the teacher to have to re-choreograph a part or entire dance. Company classes, therefore, require an increased level of commitment from students and families.

Company levels:

  • Junior Company
  • Teen Company
  • Senior Company

There will be 3 Audition dates offered
for the 2011-2012 Company Dance Teams:

 

All dancers, including current Premier Company dancers MUST try-out this year.

June 22, 2011 at 5:00pm — 
Warm ups start at 5:00pm sharp and Auditions start at 5:30pm

July 20, 2011 at 5:00pm —
Warm ups start at 5:00pm sharp and Auditions start at 5:30pm

Aug 10, 2011 at 5:00pm —
Warm ups start at 5:00pm sharp and Auditions start at5:30pm

Dancers must audition at one of the above dates. The results will be released after each audition date.  Small Group selection will be chosen through summer auditions.  Please audition as soon as you are ready as there may not be as many available spots by the last tryout.

The required dress code for Company auditions will be:
Leotard
Tights
Dance Shoes  (what is needed for the form of dance the dancer is auditioning for)

There is a $10.00 Audition Fee per student. This fee must be paid at their audition night and can be paid by cash or check (please make check out to Premier School of Dance)

A parent MUST attend briefly at the beginning of your dancer's audition night so that you can read and sign our new Company Contract. This Company Contract must be signed by a parent/guardian before results of their dancer's audition will be released.
